the life and times [Nov. 5th, 2008|09:29 pm]

Why do we allow 40,000 votes to change a constitution and allow a majority to oppress a minority. I thought the purpose of a constitution was to protect the minority from the majority.

No super majority but it was a nice landslide for Obama.

Debating: Dick Cheney Style [Mar. 19th, 2008|03:09 pm]
Post:
Alright, look. I'm not going to argue this with you anymore. Hold whatever opinion you want, but I'm just going to state a fact and you better learn to swallow or become a revisionist.

Nazis have very little in common with Neo-Conservatives. In fact, the very name Neo-Conservative implies this truth. In goal, action, and practice they're completely different.

If you want to continue saying that Nazis and Neo-Conservatives have the same kind of propaganda, sure fine whatever, but bare in mind that they also share that same style with liberals, socialists, anarchists, and communists. Point at an enemy, over simplify why they're bad, and point to yourself as the only solution. Every. Fucking. Political. Movement. Ever. Does. This.

Reply:
Continuing to make points is the opposite from not arguing.

You were never arguing with me to begin with because you wouldn't even acknowledge my points but just paint broad strokes over my argument and knock down straw men you set up yourself. You were arguing with yourself.

Trying to derive meaning from the name Neo-Conservative is futile considering the movement is neither new nor conservative.

Their propaganda is comparable; with little research you can find similar themes, tactics (simplify and repeat) and even language used (It is you who is generalizing; saying all propaganda is the same). Trying to compare these techniques to liberals like Chomsky or Anarchist like Friedman and Goldman is laughable. The fascist movements create a dualism between good vs evil over simplifying the enemy and pointing themselves as the solution. This is in fact not common with every political movement - that is an extremely shallow view of political history considering the dualism has been surpassed in political philosophy for a long time now.

You should be more respectful (less insults) when debating with friends by the way - you tend to learn more when you are willing to try to understand instead of berate for holding a different view.

So Helldump has decided to pick on me because they are unable to logically defend themselves resort to ad-homs and pulling up personal information. So I figured I would just say 'Hi' because I leave this public for a reason, I don't care everyone has weird lives when put into different context. Hope you have fun reviewing my past.

Campaign to dialogue [Sep. 12th, 2007|02:00 pm]
So after 4 hours of fighting with the people from Feinstien's office I'm not allowed to have contact with her. I was unable to get an email address or a phone number. How are my congresspeople supposed to represent me if they have no access to me? How do they know what the American people want if they are only accountable to lobbyist and campaign contributers?

Next phase, I'm going to start calling all my state senators - I'm going to ask them to pass legislation to give avenue for the people to talk with their supposed representatives. Maybe if I bug enough of them they will ask her to talk to me. I refuse to stop until I get in contact with my senator - I'm an american citizen and I will be heard.

Dont tell me what the American People want: LISTEN TO US [Sep. 12th, 2007|11:27 am]
On 9/12/07, senator@feinstein.senate.gov <senator@feinstein.senate.gov> wrote:

Dear Mr. Verdun:

Thank you for your letter concerning impeachment proceedings against Vice President Richard Cheney. I appreciate the time you took to write and welcome the opportunity to respond.

In our most recent elections, the American people expressed clear disapproval with the path this country was on. They are tired of partisan politics and of an Administration that pays little heed to the wishes of the American people. They want-and deserve-a Congress that holds the Administration accountable and fulfills its Constitutional responsibility to check and balance the Executive branch. I share this sentiment and am determined to work hard and across party lines in the United States Senate to promote issues that are of real concern to most Americans, including the situation in Iraq and Afghanistan, homeland security, global warming, and lobbying and election reform.

At this time, however, I believe that impeachment proceedings against President Bush or Vice President Cheney will only divide the country even further, frustrating our hopes for a meaningful change in direction, while having little chance of success.

I have been deeply disappointed by many of this Administration's actions and have been outspoken in those instances. Nevertheless, given the challenges our country faces I believe that we need to focus on constructive and cooperative steps that would lead us in the right direction.

Again, thank you for your letter. If you have any further questions or comments, please contact my office in Washington, D.C. at (202) 224-3841. Best regards.

Sincerely yours,

Dianne Feinstein
United States Senator

My Response:

Dear Senator,

Why are you telling me what the American people want? I'm the American people - you are MY representative and are supposed to represent my ideas and positions in our national forum. So please stop acting like you have a grasp on the American psyche and read closely: We are not tired of partisan politics we are tired of politics being so far from reality its almost as if you guys are participants in a dystopian reality show. We don't care about blue or red we care about how articulate you are, how your positions pertain to reality and history - this should be clear with the large democratic support for Republican candidates such as Ron Paul.

If you want to represent my wishes you have to have to power to actually make a difference, you must effect the power positions as they stand now because you are a silent with threat of veto from above. The war still wages further and we are in a downward spiral with no hope of getting out. There is no hope for you to pass any effective legislation with this administration. How is doing nothing holding the president accountable? How is letting this president walk away from this war and pardon traitors holding this president accountable? Do you not see the obvious contradiction within your own words? If you wish to effect Iraq, Afghanistan, Global Warming or Homeland security you must impeach this president or you will have to wait over a year before you have the hope of becoming effective again. You should be ashamed for the lack of passion in politics, you should be ashamed for not standing up and yelling loudly about the way the American people feel about our nation because we elected you to represent us and under your leadership we feel ashamed to be Americans. Across the world America is seen as the biggest threat to peace, America is turning its back on the science which established us as super power and America is raping the freedoms granted by its founders.

Success does not matter, the fact that we investigate is enough. If we do not even attempt we will not succeed either - you know this.

I as an American citizen am not only deeply disappointed this Administration, but this congress and YOU.

Sincerely,
Christian Verdun

Im calling this bitch right now because I have never been so outraged by a senator.

Jebus shoot'in heroin [Sep. 11th, 2007|05:40 am]
[sound: |velvet underground]

Lets go in reverse, like my dreams. Lets rewind to the chorus, so we can sing along. Remember when we knew the lines before it all rushed off into crescendo. At the top I look around from the mathematical pinpoint of my perfect body spread out across the fourth dimension. All roads from here lead anywhere but always towards the fade out. What a shitty ending for a song for someone to lazy to assemble the last notes. I escape to the only place where freedom isn't a propaganda device, where it isn't used to sell things. She said she wants to burn the town, down to the ground. She said she was a saving the past from the present and then I could hear the sound of clicks tear through the walls resembling a geiger counter.

It was my hard drive clicking away.
